1. The Band - the most underrated, under appreciated group in rock history. The best American Band of it's time. | 2. Joni Mitchell - probably the best singer\songwriter of her generation; definitely an amazing lyricist, and a true artist. 3. Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band - the best live concert I ever attended. 4. Frank Zappa - I love Zappa, and think he was one of the smartest, funniest, (ok some of it was a bit sophmoric) and most creative human beings of the century. 5. Bob Dylan, of course. OTHERS I TRULY APPRECIATE: Leo Kottke, Taj Mahal, Bonnie Raitt, Ry Cooder, Jimi Hendrix, Hank Williams (Sr.), Elvis, The Beatles, The Stones, BB King, James Brown, John Prine, so many more. BEST CD I'VE HEARD THIS YEAR: "LARGO" - various artists, many of whom came from "The Hooters", plus Levon Helm, Taj Majal, Garth Hudson, Cyndi Lauper, Joan Osborne, Carole King, and others. A magnificent recording!
